DESCRIPTION:The Cat’s Meow is proud to present its first annual “Broadway by Candlelight”. Auditions will be by appointment on the following days: \nFriday\, October 16Sunday\, October 18With Callbacks as necessary \nTo audition\, you must be 16+ (preferably can drive yourself) and both an impressive soloist and someone who can sing harmony in a group or duet. I am unsure how many people I will cast. It will genuinely depend on what I think the best blend will be. \n“Broadway by Candlelight”\, which was largely successful in Atlanta\, is a musical in honor of Valentine’s Day\, but with a twist. All different types of love are represented – romantic love\, of course\, but also sisterly love\, love for a pet\, etc. Performers will be in black tie (ladies in black evening gowns and white opera gloves and gentlemen in tuxedos)\, and the entire production will be performed entirely by candlelight. \nFor auditions\, I will give you a recommended song list\, but also please feel free to sing a solo piece you think is appropriate for the show. Bonus points for clever songs about a non-romantic kind of love! I will also have you learn the harmony for a duet. Song list will be announced soon. \nThe show will be cast in October with the intention that the performers work on their music on their own and show up to rehearsals in January with everything memorized and ready to go. This will help us keep rehearsals to a minimum – I am hopeful that we can put the show up in approximately 4 rehearsals total\, but that’s why it’s very important that auditioners be able to learn music on their own (with demo vocals I will provide) and/or with help from their vocal coach. \nAny questions? Meagan Johnson is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer (Knowledge Assessed)\, a Certified Family Dog Mediator (FDM)\, and has studied under Michael Shikashio completing the Aggression in Dogs Master Course. 2019 was the year Meagan became a UKI judge and has attended the Global Judging Program 1 and 2 (twice). In 2023 she became a USDAA judge. In 2020 Meagan founded Reactive and Distracted Agility\, an organization built around dogs that struggle with traditional competition environments due to noise sensitivity\, dog reactivity\, or stranger danger. Behavioral struggles in sport dogs is a huge point of passion and is the crossroads of Meagan’s career and education. Meagan’s own agility journey began in 2010 with her first dog Twig (Scottie mix)\, followed by Brix (Border Collie)\, Coney (Shih-Tzu / Chihuahua mix)\, and Hanks (BorderPap Staffy mix). Every one of her dog’s journeys has been different\, with challenges rising from motivation struggles\, reinforcement questions\, reactivity\, over arousal\, fear\, hyper social\, and more. Not only has Meagan learned so much from her own dogs\, but also by working with and coaching hundreds of teams and families supporting their dogs in a variety of scenarios\, whether sports or home based since 2012. She currently teaches agility in-person and virtually\, as well as behavior modification and basic good dog stuff through her training business\, www.RAD-Dogs.com.Meagan currently competes with Coney and Hanks! In 2023\, Coney finished the year as the #5 4” dog in UKI\, and was the UKI Southwest Cup Overall Reserve Champion. Hanks was the 12” Select Speedstakes Final Reserve Champion at the 2023 UKI US Open at just 18 months old! In 2024 Hanks was the 12” Pentathlon Champion at the SWAT Roadrunner Classics and 3rd Overall at the Southwest Cup. These boys are just getting started!
