SUMMARY:Turkey Trot 5K and Fun Run
DESCRIPTION:Thank you for your support of LowCountry Habitat for Humanity and our mission to build affordable housing in Beaufort. \nJoin LowCountry Habitat for Humanity for a FUN 5K Race on Thanksgiving morning in Downtown Beaufort.  Starting at 8am on Thursday November 24\, 2022\, on Bay & Newcastle Streets (in front of the Best Western).  Run through historic downtown Beaufort and across the famous Woods bridge following a certified 5K course.  \nPacket pickup will be available at Grounded Running located at 2139 Boundary Street\, Ste 108 Beaufort\, SC 29902 on Wednesday\, November 23rd from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.  Please note that T-shirts and sizes are not guaranteed for registrations after 11/1/2022.    \nRace Day registration/packet pick up: For runners that have not pre-registered\, registration will be available on the day of the race from 7:00 a.m. – 7:45 a.m. for $50.00.  Pre-registered runners may also pick up their packets at this time if they have not already done so. Registration / Packet Pick Up will close promptly at 7:45am to ensure the race begins on-time.     \nAge categories:  under 12\, 13-19\, 20-29\, 30-39\, 40-49\, 50-59\, 60-69\, 70+\nPrizes awarded to overall top three male and female and top three male and female in age divisions.   Awards are for in-person participants only.  We will determine closer to the race if awards will be presented in person.  If this is the case\, we will start awards PROMPTLY at 8:45am.   \nEvent is pet and stroller friendly.  Flexi-type leashes will not be allowed at the event.  Please have pets on a standard 4-6ft lead.  \nCourse:  The race start/finish line is on Bay Street in-between the Marina and Best Western at Freedom Mall.  Run down Bay Street and across Woods Memorial Bridge to Lady’s Island.  Turn Right at Meridian Rd and run down to Youmans Drive and double back the same route to Freedom Mall.  \nParking:  The closest address reference point for your GPS is the downtown marina parking lot: 1006 Bay St\, Beaufort\, SC 29902. You’ll want to make sure to plan out parking in advance as traffic is to be expected with the bridge blocked off for the race. Check Park Beaufort to plan out your parking.  \nPlease note that registration for this event and shipping fees are NOT REFUNDABLE.  If we are unable to host an in person/live race\, we will transfer to a virtual format.

SUMMARY:Parish Church of St. Helena Annual Free Thanksgiving Dinner
DESCRIPTION:On Thanksgiving Day\, the Parish Church of St. Helena will host the 43rd Annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner\, Thursday\, November 24th\, starting 1130am at the church’s Parish Hall at 507 Newcastle Street in Downtown Beaufort. \nAs always\, all are welcome. \nProviding a free Thanksgiving dinner for the community is one of the favorite traditions at the Parish Church of St. Helena\, with over one thousand traditional Thanksgiving meals served each year. Rosalind Dixon\, who coordinates the meal\, said the church expects to carve up more than 60 turkeys for the event\, which is in its 43rd year. \nThe event is a sit-down dinner\, so you may come and dine with friends\, family and the community. \nDrive up take-away meals are also available for those who need one or for want to carry meals to the elderly or home bound\, and delivery to home bound is also available. \nThe food is donated to the church and the dinner is a gift to the community with the cost only being a smile and thankful heart. \nVisit https://www.sthelenas1712.org/ for more info.
