DESCRIPTION:Please join the Parks division of the City of Beaufort’s Public Works Department as they plant a redbud tree at Pigeon Point Park in honor of Arbor Day\, which is observed throughout South Carolina on the first Friday of December.  \nThe celebration will begin at 10 a.m. Dec. 1 near the front entry of Pigeon Point Park off Pigeon Point Road. The City’s Parks & Tree Advisory Committee (PTAC) will also be joining the celebration. \nThe City of Beaufort is proud that for 32 years\, it has been named a Tree City USA. Among the criteria: Adoption of a tree ordinance\, a tree board (PTAC)\, a community forestry program\, and an Arbor Day proclamation and observance. \nThe public is invited to attend and celebrate this event.

DESCRIPTION:Join us for the annual Cadd Family Holiday Light Display every night from November 25th through December 27th\, and enjoy the walk-through light display with your friends and family at one of the Beaufort area’s favorite holiday traditions.\nSynchronized to Christmas music\, among the dozens and dozens of dancing light displays you will be greeted by are Anna & Elsa\, Frosty\, Garfield\, Rudolph\, the Grinch\, Yukon Cornelius and dozens of others that you all know and love; all among a lighted winter wonderland complete with  snow machines and a moving lifelike Santa sitting on his chair. \nThis season’s Holiday Light Display schedule:\nSundays through Thursdays from 530pm to 830pm\nFridays & Saturdays from 530pm to 10pm \nPlease park safely along Springfield Road and be very attentive to small children.\nThere will be no display that night if a considerable amount of rain has fallen that day.\nFor your safety\, please remain on your side of the fencing\, and do not touch the displays. \nIn the spirit of the giving season\, the Cadds\, David & Amanda\, encourage you to please support our Beaufort community during the holidays by donating toys or making a monetary donation to Toys For Tots\, The Salvation Army\, HELP of Beaufort\, local food pantries\, or any of the additional organizations that will help families in need at this time of the year.

Downtown retailers will be open. Roving choirs will be singing Christmas carols\, while the Parris Island Marine Corps Band will perform on the main stage at Charles and Bay streets. Other performers will also be taking the stage as well. \nThe Community Bible Church Soul Patrol Puppet Team will perform at Bay and Carteret streets. Food will be available along Bay Street from vendors. Parents can bring their kiddies to have their pictures taken with Santa from 6-8 p.m. And\, a recital of “The Night Before Christmas” will occur on the main stage just before the Christmas tree lighting culminates the evening around at 8pm
