DESCRIPTION:Join us on a Gullah/Geechee coastal journey for the Coastal Cultures Conference 2024 as we focus on “Gullah/Geechee & Biodiversity.” \nThe 2024 Coastal Cultures Conference will center on historic St. Helena Island\, SC and journey to the Coastal Empire on the Georgia coast. This annual conference hosted by the Gullah/Geechee Sustainability Think Tank brings together a wide variety of diverse environmental leaders focused on ensuring not only the sustainability of the coast and our waterways but also the cultural heritage of communities such as that of the Gullah/Geechee Nation . This year\, the event will include pre-conference environmental sustainability projects on St. Helena Island \, a coastal adaptation and sustainability tour from South Carolina to Georgia\, Gullah/Geechee Living Marketplace\, Gullah/Geechee Black & Gold Ball and the annual Coastal Culture Circle of Engagement. \nThe Gullah/Geechee Nation is engaged in a number of successful initiatives to heal\, protect and sustain the southeastern coast.
