SUMMARY:Saltwater Fishing Instructor Training (Beaufort County)
DESCRIPTION:We’re looking for volunteers ages 18 years and older to lead saltwater fishing clinics and participate in SCDNR fishing related outreach programs. We would like to start a volunteer-lead fishing program at the Port Royal Maritime Center and the surrounding areas. These programs include: \n-Saltwater Fishing Clinics: Volunteers lead/co-lead saltwater fishing clinics from docks\, piers\, or the surf. \n-Assist with Fishing Tournaments and Fishing Rodeos \n-Assist with Fishing Related Events and Outreach Events \nVolunteers from all along the South Carolina coast are welcome. We provide training\, supplies and support. This training will be an in-person training and will include a Powerpoint and hands-on component. Volunteers are required to participate in this training! Please sign up to take this instructor training class. Information on the in-person training is below. \n(More information about the in-person training will be sent out once registered and near the training date.) \nDetails for the program are below: \n-You must take the in-person instructor training course offered by SCDNR \n-You must pass a SLED background check. If you are already a volunteer with Port Royal Maritime Center\, you do not have to worry about this. \n-You must participate in at least 2 fishing events a year \nIf you have any other questions about the program or can’t make the training\, but are still interested in volunteering\, please email Pamela at corwinp@dnr.sc.gov
