SUMMARY:Falling for Red Fish Tournament
DESCRIPTION:Join us this Fall\, November 23rd 2024\, for our first annual Live weigh-in Red Fish Tournament.  \nAnglers must catch and bring their red fish back to be weighed. Each team’s 2 heaviest redfish will be scored. Total weight of both fish combined will be your total points.ALL REDFISH MUST BE SLOT FISH. NOTHING UNDER 15″ AND NOTHING OVER 23″ WILL BE ACCEPTED. Any angler who brings any under slot or over slot fish back to the weigh station will be disqualified. Fish must also be alive during weigh in. 1LB will be deducted for each dead fish.  \nBoth live and artificial bait is allowed during this tournament.  \nLines in at 7am. Weigh in begins at 3pm and ends at 4pm. Must be present at the weigh station by 4pm.  \n$100 base entry fee per boat\, this will include 1 angler. Each additional angler is $50. Kayaks are welcome\, so long as you are able to keep your fish alive for the weigh in. Entry fee for kayak is $100 (1 angler). \nThere will be food and beer available at the weigh in\, prepared by yours truly.  \nMandatory Captains Meeting Friday\, November 22nd at 6pm. Raffle will be conducted at Captains Meeting.Every one gets 1 raffle ticket with entry\, additional tickets will be available for purchase.

DESCRIPTION:Join us on November 23 at 1 pm for an opening ceremony of our new visitor center exhibit. “Lay of the Land” was created in collaboration between park staff\, volunteers\, community partners\, and an internship program with Morehouse College alumni through the Greening Youth Foundation HBCUI program. The exhibit uses a place-based approach to share stories of locations throughout the southeastern United States to address core themes of Reconstruction: land\, labor\, education\, citizenship\, and politics\, as well as the long-term consequences and legacy of Reconstruction. The exhibit was completed in late October as part of a series of projects to improve the accessibility and visitor experience to the park.
