Her first job during high school was a gofer for a furniture company and her last position was president of the hospitality business owned by Donna and Ray. While she volunteers at numerous organizations\, she is most often found at The Pat Conroy Literary Center where she will welcome you to Beaufort and give you the grand tour. Her writing inspiration comes from her world travels\, her personal experiences in Italy and from living in the Lowcountry. She has written numerous magazine articles on travel and food and is the author of Solo in Salento: A Memoir and the Italian translation Un’Americana in Salento and celebrated her Italian book launch in Otranto\, Italy in 2022. Her essays have appeared in the following anthologies: London – Smokes\, Blokes and Jokes of Foggy Town; Paris – Love\, Loss and Longing in the City of Lights; and Rome – Centuries of Stories of the Eternal City.  \nIn October of 2023 her first mystery novel in the Cat Gabbiano Mystery Series debuted. Book #1 The Red Starfish was released in October 2023 followed by Book #2 Moringa~Tree of Life released June 2024. Book #3 in the series – One Note Murders – will be released on November 15\, 2025. And there will be a Book #4 ~ The Voyage Never Ends. Donna and Ray split their time between the South Carolina Lowcountry and Otranto\, Italy.
