She’s also published two short story collections: Savage Pilgrims (Serving House Books) and My Mother’s War Stories (Winnow Press). Her photo essay\, “White Blossoms\,” appeared in Issue 12 of the KYSO Flash Anthology. Her nonfiction\, fiction\, and poetry has appeared in journals such as Denver Quarterly\, The Georgia Review\, The Louisville Review\, Puerto del Sol\, New Letters\, and Shenandoah. Her web chapbook\, Wash Day\, appears in the Web Del Sol International Chapbook Series\, and her story collection\, My Mother’s War Stories\, received the 2004 Winnow Press fiction prize. DESCRIPTION:As part of a City-wide commemoration of the Marquis de Lafayette’s return to the United States\, and to Beaufort\, 50 years after the successful American Revolution ended\, the Beaufort History Museum is proud to present “Dancing with Lafayette\,” a Ball in the Arsenal Courtyard on March 18th. \nDance lessons/instructions and music will be made available through a dance master. Lessons are from 5:30-6:00 in the courtyard. The ball begins at 6:00 and ends at 8:00.\n\nPeriod dress/costumes are suggested\, but not required. Authentic period finger foods will be available along with today’s beer and wine.\n\nLimited tickets are now on sale at only $40 each.\nGuests at the event will also be encouraged to visit the Museum and a newly renovated room adjacent to the Museum on the second floor of the Arsenal.
