DESCRIPTION:Get ready\, foodies! The annual Taste of Beaufort Culture\, Music and Food Festival will be held on Friday\, May 5\, and Saturday\, May 6\, at Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park. Admission is free. \nYou can listen to great music while sampling dishes from the best of Beaufort’s restaurants. There will be a Kids Corner and arts and craft vendors as well. \nThe food vendors include Belly Full by Tyger (grilled seafood and soul food)\, Krystyna’s Authentic Polish Food\, JohnnieMae’s Chicken & Waffles\, AndLobster\, Marker 244\, Sea Eagle Market\, SnoBar Truck\, Southern Bell Boards (Charcuterie)\, and Misfit Chef (Japanese soul bowls). If you have a sweet tooth\, you can satisfy that at Bruster’s (ice cream)\, the Island Fudge Shoppe\, Palmetto Kettle Corn\, and Tout Sweet Macarons. \nFood tickets are $1 per ticket\, and must be purchased at the festival. \nThe festival runs from 5-10 p.m. on Friday\, and 11 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturday. DESCRIPTION:The Technical College of the Lowcountry will hold its annual commencement ceremony at 6 p.m. on May 12 at the Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park in downtown Beaufort. \n\n\n\nThe ceremony will include approximately 300 graduates from a range of certificate\, diploma and associate degree programs. Beaufort County School District Superintendent Frank Rodriguez will give the commencement address. \nIn addition\, TCL will announce and recognize this year’s Presidential Medallion award recipient at the event. As the college’s highest honor\, the Presidential Medallion is given to a distinguished community leader who exhibits enthusiasm\, integrity and perseverance beyond the ordinary to help build a better and stronger community. \nParking will be available for graduates and their guests. Due to possible traffic congestion\, the public is advised to avoid the Bay Street area during this time.

SUMMARY:2023 Biennale: National Juried Art Exhibition Reception
DESCRIPTION:Representing artists from across the country\, including South Carolina\, the 2023 Biennale promises to be a showcase of exemplary artwork. The national call for entries attracted 639 artworks from 35 states. Top pieces were selected based on the originality of concept\, composition\, and execution. The exhibition\, which is the longest-running national juried art exhibition in the area\, will feature multiple media types including Oil\, Acrylic\, Pastel\, Watermedia\, Photography\, Mixed Media\, and Three-Dimensional. \nOver $5\,000 in prizes will be awarded to the most outstanding works\, selected by this year’s Biennale Judge\, Aline Ordman. Ordman is known for her vivid paintings and creative use of color. She recently won the top prize in the Pastel Journal 100 competition. She is an award-winning Master Pastelist with the Pastel Society of America\, a Signature Member of both the American Impressionistic Society and the Oil Painters of America\, and a Master Circle Pastelist with the International Association of Pastel Societies. \nOrdman will be on hand to present the awards at a reception Friday evening\, May 19\, which is open to the public. \nOrdman will also lead a discussion on her selection process during the Critic’s Coffee event on Saturday morning\, May 20. The entry fee is $10 for the Critic’s Coffee and attendees can RSVP to gallery@artleaguehhi.org.
