SUMMARY:Halfway Home: A Sea Turtle Art Exhibit Supporting Sea Turtle Patrol HHI
DESCRIPTION:Halfway Home\, a special sea turtle-themed art exhibit\, returns to Art League Academy July 21–31\, 2026\, in partnership with Sea Turtle Patrol HHI. The exhibit showcases creative works from local artists celebrating the beauty and vulnerability of Hilton Head Island’s beloved sea turtles. Twenty percent of all artwork sales and class tuition will benefit Sea Turtle Patrol HHI\, a nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting sea turtle nests and hatchlings during the nesting season. \n“We named the exhibit Halfway Home because we’ll be right at the midpoint of sea turtle season\,” says Kristen McIntosh\, Executive Director of Art League of Hilton Head. “The artwork is always inspiring\, and we’re honored to once again support Sea Turtle Patrol HHI and the important work they do on our island.” \nVisitors are invited to browse the exhibit weekdays from 10am–4pm and attend the Closing Reception on Friday\, July 31\, from 5–7pm\, where they can meet the artists\, mingle with the sea turtle patrol\, and enjoy light refreshments. The exhibit and reception are free and open to the public. \nAs part of the week’s programming\, Art League Academy will offer sea turtle-themed classes throughout the fundraiser\, including a free Turtle Talk hosted by a Sea Turtle Patrol volunteer on Friday\, July 24 at 2pm. The educational presentation is open to the public and will provide insight into Hilton Head Island’s sea turtle population\, nesting season\, and conservation efforts. Class registration is available at artleaguehhi.org. \n“Sea Turtle Patrol volunteers monitor the beaches daily throughout nesting season to help protect sea turtle nests and hatchlings\,” says Amber Kuehn\, Director of Sea Turtle Patrol HHI. “Community partnerships like this not only help fund our mission\, but also educate residents and visitors about how they can help protect this endangered species.” \nhttps://www.facebook.com/events/1353131846742535/?event_time_id=1353131876742532

SUMMARY:Mean Girls: The Musical
DESCRIPTION:Mean Girls: The Musical hits the stage with everyone’s favorite characters from the movie\, powerful music\, and timely pop culture and satirical references\, thanks to a brilliant book by Tina Fey. Cady Heron may have grown up on an African savanna\, but nothing prepared her for the wild and vicious ways of her strange new home: suburban Illinois. How will this naïve newbie rise to the top of the popularity pecking order? \nSocial outcasts Janis and Damian befriend her\, but when The Plastics set their own sights on the new girl\, Janis convinces naive Cady to bring down Queen Bee Regina George. Along the way\, Cady loses herself\, her friends\, and her crush\, all for the chance to be popular and loved. Cady learns the hard way that you can’t cross a Queen Bee without getting stung! With an incredible score and high-energy dance numbers\, Mean Girls is an anthem to friendship\, loyalty\, girl power\, and being true to yourself. \nDirected by Whitaker Gannon \nBest For Ages: 13 and up \nhttps://www.facebook.com/events/2767900866921199/?event_time_id=2767900880254531

SUMMARY:FREE Master Naturalist Tour
DESCRIPTION:Come experience the informative nature tour of the Cypress Wetlands conducted by Master Naturalist Jill Moore\, of Moore 2 Life. While the tours are free to the public\, we rely on the generosity of our donors to fund the expenses of our organization\, which includes the services of our Master Naturalist. Donations are vital to the fulfillment of our mission\, which is to support the cypress wetlands and rookery\, increase community awareness through education\, and advocate for maintaining the stormwater retention system as a working organic laboratory. To donate\, you may visit the “Donate” page of our website\, or bring the donation with you to the tour and leave it with the Master Naturalist. Thank you for your support. \nScroll down to book. If you have any questions or concerns\, please email us at info@foprcw.org. \n***Due to recent improvements on Paris Avenue\, access to the Port Royal Cypress Wetlands amphitheater will be limited for pedestrians. Therefore\, for the foreseeable future\, we recommend that visitors to the Wetlands begin their tour at the half-mile loop\, starting from the covered pavilion on Richmond Avenue. Parking for the pavilion is across from 1710 Richmond Avenue. Directions are as follows: Turn off of Ribaut Road onto Richmond Avenue at the Dollar General. Drive through the first stop sign\, past the YMCA\, and then park along Richmond Avenue at the covered pavilion.*** \nhttps://www.facebook.com/events/1609381150297729/?event_time_id=1609381163631061
