Beaufort’s outdoor festival season is right around the corner and starts with the 11th annual Bands Brews & BBQ event in Port Royal. Enjoy two days of food, music and fun with wings, barbecue, craft beers, live music and kids’ activities on Friday and Saturday, February 28th & 29th hosted by the Port of Port Royal.
Yep. A festival on leap day. Why not?
The fun February event is also an official South Carolina Barbecue Association sanctioned event which kicks off the 2020 statewide competitive BBQ season.
Friday night is the Wing Throw Down from 6 to 9 p.m. where you can sample wing recipes from participating cookers while enjoying live music from two local bands and a Kids Fun Zone and more.
Saturday is all about the BBQ as BBQ tasting day runs from noon to 4 p.m. with cook teams from across the Southeast serving their award-winning wings and butts. Four different bands will be providing the entertainment for the day and the kids can enjoy the Fun Zone, just for them.
Awards will be presented on Saturday by sanctioned South Carolina BBQ Association judges.
General admission passes are available online in advance.
The sampling of wings Friday night and BBQ Saturday will be available for by purchasing tickets for $1. Beer, soda and wine will be available for purchase.
Event always takes place rain or shine…but it hasn’t rained yet because the weather Gods must be BBQ lovers.
