The 65th Annual Beaufort Water Festival started off with a bang on Friday night with a fireworks celebration over the Beaufort River that followed after an opening ceremony and a concert that was attended by thousands.

Boats dotted the river as the Parris Island Marine Band performed throughout the evening after remarks were made by this year’s Commodore Erin Morris to officially kick off the festival.

This year’s 10-day festival, perpetually held at the Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park in downtown Beaufort, will feature tons of live entertainment and concerts, dozens of vendors and super fun activities from now through Sunday, July 25th.

The Beaufort Water Festival continues on Saturday with a host of sporting events including raft races, sporting events, working shrimp boat tours, a children’s fishing tourney and the annual Saturday concert in the park featuring country music performer, Rodney Atkins.
