Beaufort's Panini's on the Waterfront named one of best in S.C.
With a menu full of local flavor, its no surprise that Beaufort’s Panini's on the waterfront was named one of the best restaurants in S.C.

Everyone knows that one of the special things about living in the Lowcountry is our food and the Beaufort area is full of fantastic restaurants. Which is why its no surprise that Downtown Beaufort’s Panini’s on the waterfront was selected as one of the best restaurants in South Carolina in a recent article by online magazine, Best Things in South Carolina, operated by American Towns Media.

In its article, The 12 Best Restaurants in South Carolina, the writer looked for “unforgettable dining spots around every corner of the Palmetto State,” and heaped praise on Panini’s atmosphere, its building and location, and its menu.

In looking for unique dining experiences you won’t find anywhere else, the article complimented Panini’s on offering dinner with a view, saying “Panini’s on the Waterfront combines old world charm with new world cuisine, wrapped up in views of Beaufort’s historical district and waterfront.”

“Formerly the site of the Bank of Beaufort back in the 1920s, and later home to the Breeze Movie Theatre in the 1940s, its historical architecture adds rich ambiance prime for a fun dining experience.”

“Fresh local seafood, pasta, stone-baked pizza, and panini sandwiches (naturally) compose the tasty menu, along with a full bar.”

It’s no secret that Beaufort is becoming known as a food lover’s paradise with Lowcountry dishes that help make sure you eat like a local.

Beyond the fresh seafood, which is a staple here thanks to Beaufort being an island surrounded by saltwater, you’ll find local specialties for every type of taste; from fresh farm-to-table fare to the most incredible Lowcountry dishes at Panini’s on the Waterfront including their popular version of shrimp & grits, Beaufort’s only seafood pizza and quite possibly the best she crab soup available this side of Charleston.

Panini’s also has an expansive river deck for outside seating which offers the best views of the Atlantic Intra-Coastal Waterway and Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park.

We’ve enjoyed Panini’s on the Waterfront several times, personally, and want to congratulate it’s owner and staff on getting some of the recognition they deserve.

Other notable restaurants on the list are Calhoun Corners in Clemson, Smoke on the Water in Greenville, Rioz Brazilian Steakhouse in Myrtle Beach and The Dead Dog Saloon in Murrell’s Inlet.
