The Santa Elena History Center is hosting a Spanish themed, family-friendly celebration of Pedro Menendez’s 500th birthday and famed ‘mountain man’ Eustace Conway is coming to help celebrate.
On Saturday, March 2nd, there’s a party going on at the History Center for the founder of Santa Elena with a day full of special events in his commemoration.
It also includes the attendance of a direct descendant of Pedro’s, Mark Menendez.

Conway, a renowned naturalist and star of the History Channel’s ‘Mountain Men’, will present a program to attendees about survival skills and early history.

2:00 Program- Eustace Conway from History Channel’s Mountain Men “Living off the Land”
3:00 Music- Early Instrument Demonstration
4:00 Music- Main Musical Performance by the Taylor Festival Choir of Charleston
Ongoing- Period Weapons Demonstrations will take place throughout the day in the living history encampment!
