The First-Ever Hallway Gallery at King Street Arts Center | Call for Artists

This holiday season, the Freedman Arts District is turning the hallways of the King Street Arts Center into Beaufort’s newest gallery experience—and we want your work to make its debut.

Deck the Halls is our inaugural holiday exhibition: a bold, community-centered showcase of original art displayed throughout the building, inviting visitors to encounter creativity in unexpected places.

As people move through the halls, they’ll discover work that stops them, moves them, challenges them, and gives them a reason to look twice.

We’re looking for original artwork with a point of view, work that tells a story, sparks a conversation, captures a feeling, or offers a fresh way of seeing.

Your piece does not need to be traditional holiday art. It simply needs to be meaningful, memorable, and ready to connect with an audience.

Not holiday art. Art that makes the holidays more meaningful.

Exhibition Details

Exhibition: November 19, 2026 – January 3, 2027

Opening Night: November 19 | 4–8 PM, celebrating the official kickoff of Mistletoe Market

Submission Requirements

* Submit up to 3 original works created in 2026.

* Include a photograph and at least one paragraph sharing the story behind each piece.

* All artwork must be ready to hang.

* Standard gallery commissions apply.

* Selections will be based on artistic quality, originality, and the ability to engage, surprise, and inspire viewers.
