[Every holiday season we talk about how important it is to shop at our small locally owned businesses. That’s because it is. A small business can earn 30% of their yearly receipts in the months of November and December alone.]

Bring your family and friends to kick off the holiday shopping season by exploring the unique stores throughout Downtown Beaufort. You’ll discover many deals and savings during Black Friday on November 24th, Small Business Saturday on November 25th, and Cyber Monday on November 27th. Support your neighbors and shop small in downtown Beaufort this holiday season.

On November 25th, you can be a part of an annual holiday shopping tradition which helps to bring communities together in support of their favorite small businesses.

Small Business Saturday encourages shoppers to buy from small, local businesses rather than big box stores. You’ll have over 60 local Beaufort businesses to browse and enjoy.

Small Business Saturday, which was first celebrated in 2010, calls to attention the importance of shopping at the small businesses that serve as the backbone of our local communities. Each year, Small Business Saturday draws crowds to main streets across the country with great deals on unique products and services, events that encourage shopping locally, and unique experiences that introduce you to commonly valued neighbors.

Why shop small?

When you shop small local businesses you’re making a personal investment in your neighborhood and community. In fact, for every $100 spent, roughly $68 to $73 of it returns to local activity.

Money is kept in the community because locally-owned businesses often purchase from other local businesses, service providers and even farms. Purchasing local helps grow other businesses as well as our region’s tax base.

Whether you realize it or not, when you shop local you are individually stimulating the local economy with your support and in turn, helping shape our community’s unique character and personality.

Oh… and don’t shop hungry. You’ll want to make plans to grab breakfast, lunch, or dinner at one of our downtown restaurants too.

Also, shoppers will have extra time to get everything on their list this holiday season courtesy of some extended hours downtown. Many of our downtown Beaufort stores will be open until 7pm, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays through January 1st to accommodate shoppers.

Shopping Online?

Cyber Monday is on November 27th. Even if you’re shopping online, be sure to always “shop local”. Many of our downtown Beaufort merchants have wonderful websites designed for eCommerce and shopping. You’ll be able to browse, purchase, and pay at the click of a button.

Not to mention, you’re supporting a small business which depends on your thoughtful patronage this holiday season.
