Beginning Wednesday March 18, 2020, downtown Beaufort businesses and restaurants started offering curbside pickup and delivery service to customers. Multiple parking spaces along Bay Street and adjacent blocks have been designated as curbside service spots allowing for 10 minutes of free parking so customers can dash in to pick up orders or wait for deliveries to their cars. We’re happy to see free parking spaces dedicated to curbside pickup in downtown Beaufort.
The 13 spaces are clearly marked by the City of Beaufort and are conveniently located throughout the downtown business core, on Bay, Carteret, West, Charles, Port Republic and Scott Streets.
The temporary addition of the designated spaces is an effort to help local businesses accommodate their customers as well as keep the community engaged in supporting the local economy while maintaining mindful social distancing and practicing safe health habits in alignment with CDC, State, and local mandates and practices.
