There’s going to be a load roar in the sky over Beaufort on Monday morning as Operation American Resolve makes its way through the Lowcountry. We’re used to them here in Beaufort, but this one is a bit different.
Operation American Resolve, a special flyover by the South Carolina Air National Guard, will pass Beaufort Memorial Hospital, the Naval Hospital in Port Royal and through the area between 11:25am and 11:40am as a way of saluting health care workers on the front lines of the coronavirus pandemic.
According to a schedule for Operation American Resolve, Swamp Fox F-16 fighter jets are set to pass over Beaufort Memorial, the Naval Hospital, Hilton Head Hospital and Encompass Health in Bluffton, in that time frame Monday. Coastal Carolina Hospital in Hardeeville is slotted for its flyover from 11:15am through 11:30am.
According to the website, the F-16 jets are part of the 169th Fighter Wing that is coming back from a training mission. They will be split into three groups taking routes over different regions of South Carolina as a way to thank health care workers.
Anyone who gets any photos or videos of the flyover is encouraged to share via social media while using the hashtags #AirForceSalutes or #AFFlyover.
