A casting call has been announced by the production crew of the new movie being filmed in downtown Savannah this week titled, “Devotion.” A crew from Black Label Media company has been in Savannah filming the new Korean War epic and a variety of actors are needed asap.
The call went out today for paid actors and extras and the pay rate, according to the casting website, is $154 per day.
The film is in need of 2-year-old African American twins for a major non-speaking role in the movie, along with adult actors.
The African-American twins will play a major role, and several others are needed to portray a Navy flight crew, aircraft carrier men, policemen and Asian soldiers.
In addition to the daily pay, the production also covers the cost of a mandatory COVID-19 test for you.
The aerial epic stars Jonathan Majors (Da 5 Bloods) and Glen Powell (Top Gun: Maverick) and charts the true story of U.S. Navy fighter pilots, Jesse Brown and Tom Hudner, two young men from different worlds. Initiated together into the VF-32 squadron, they are pushed to their limits flying a new design of fighter jet. Their friendship is tested to the hilt when one of them is shot down behind enemy lines.
The movie also stars are Thomas Sadoski, Joe Jonas, Daren Kagasoff, Christina Jackson and Spencer Neville.
Filming in downtown Savannah started on Wednesday, but will most likely run into the next few weeks as well as overall filming isn’t expected to wrap up in Savannah and the surrounding area until April.
Parts of River Street and Bay Street have been and will continue to be closed, as well as the Drayton and Abercorn ramps onto River street and the production crew has already turned River Street’s Olympia Cafe into the “Cafe de Flore” and the “Hotel de Flore”as they filmed scenes with classic cars in place for the period piece.
They need actors in Savannah….and you need to be in a movie.
