Get the little ones excited. The Junior Service League of Beaufort is hosting another Touch a Truck event for kids of all ages on Saturday, October 30th at Beaufort Town Center.
Popular in communities throughout the U.S., and in its 6th year here in Beaufort, Touch a Truck is an interactive event that allows children to see, touch, and explore their favorite big trucks and heavy machinery while getting hands-on experience from the skilled operators of the vehicles themselves.
Kids are an inquisitive bunch, and these events stoke their curiosity like no other.
Some of the big machines that will most likely be on display at the upcoming event include farm equipment, a helicopter, dump trucks, monster trucks, emergency equipment including police cars, SWAT cars, ambulances and fire trucks, tow trucks, back hoes, storm water trucks, utility trucks and several more.
Kids get the opportunity to climb, touch, learn and play on some of the coolest vehicles around that build, serve and protect our community. Participants will be able to sit in the driver’s seat and imagine what it is like to operate the vehicles as well as learn more about them, too.
The event also features vendors and food trucks with tons to do for kids and adults so whether you’re a parent, a child, or a child at heart, there will be plenty to do while you’re there.
There will be plenty of food, live music and beverage (including adult beverages) options available to enjoy while watching the kids have fun.
“New this year is the designated Quiet Hour from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. for members of our community who may be sensitive to noise and lights,” said JSLB Touch a Truck Chairwoman Kelly Troccoli. “During this hour, we will do our best to eliminate music, sirens, lights, etc. to ensure a comfortable experience for everyone. We are working hard to put on yet another safe, fun-filled event that will help us raise money that goes right back into our community through non-profit grants given out in May.”
Admission is only $5 per person, with all proceeds directly benefiting women, children, and families in our community. Tickets will be available for purchase at the entrance of the event and all proceeds directly benefit women, children, and families in our community.
Saturday, October 30th from 10am to 4pm
Please note:
• In the case of rain, the event will be postponed to November 6th, 2021.
• Pets will not be allowed at the event.
“Touch a Truck offers families a fantastic experience and we are excited to continue our annual fall fundraiser for the league,” said JSLB’s Becky Grothe. “We are placing priority on sanitization and safety protocols for the safety of everyone! We are currently seeking sponsors. Please help us spread the word throughout our community and help us give back. Not only will the event be fun and educational, but proceeds from our event funnel right back into our beloved community. Mark your calendar for a great event!”
Not only is the event a ton of fun, but it’s also all for a good cause. Proceeds from the event go right back into our community via JSLB grants distributed in May each year. The JSLB is devoted to enriching the lives of women, children, and families in our Beaufort community. Your participation in engaging events like Touch-a-Truck helps the League continually distribute funds and time right back into this place we call home.
