It’s finally here! Local strawberries are ready and it’s time to go and enjoy a taste of spring, Beaufort-style.
There’s nothing like grabbing the kids and going for a drive down Sea Island Parkway on St.Helena Island and pulling up to the familiar red & white sign on the right side of the highway.
A trip to Dempsey’s is a rite of passage for many of Beaufort’s kids…and plenty of adults. Grabbing a bucket and venturing out into the fields in search of the perfect strawberry is a springtime favorite in these parts.
And, as you can plainly see….we love it!
Lots of folks have been visiting the farm on our spring mornings in search of the biggest, juiciest, tastiest red berry in the Lowcountry.
Local farmer Dave Dempsey and his family and farm stand helpers will be there to greet you with a smile as you grab a complimentary bucket and head on over to their strawberry fields. Because they love strawberry season just as much as their patrons do!
