The annual Soft Shell Crab Festival in Port Royal, one of the area’s most popular events, scheduled for Saturday, April 18th, has been cancelled.

There has been no word as of yet from the City of Beaufort about the cancellation of the annual Taste of Beaufort festival that is scheduled to be held in downtown at Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park on May 1st & 2nd.

“As the Coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to affect our community, the Old Village Association of Port Royal wants to update you on its annual Soft Shell Crab Festival. Because the safety and well-being of our visitors, vendors, sponsors and volunteers remains our top priority, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the festival scheduled for April 18, 2020. Those who have sent sponsorship or vendor money will be contacted individually about refunds. Please mark your calendars for our annual OktoPRfest scheduled for October 24, 2020. Thank you for being a part of the Port Royal community. Your support and patronage make us who we are – cool, coastal, far from ordinary Port Royal, South Carolina!” – Town of Port Royal, 3-19-20
