According to a press release issued by the county, Beaufort County plans to reopen public access to beaches and waterways for recreation and fishing at noon on Tuesday, in accordance with S.C. Gov. McMaster’s Monday afternoon order.
Governor Henry McMaster issued an executive order Monday evening lifting restrictions on public access to the stateβs beaches, public piers, docks and wharfs, and allowing some of the stateβs retailers to reopen.
Beaufort County plans to have all county-managed public piers, docks and beach access reopened by noon, tomorrow, April 21st.

Hunting Island State Park, managed by the S.C. State Park System, remains closed until April 30. Public beach access points managed by individual municipalities remain closed until reopened by that municipalityβs Council decision.
