The City of Beaufort is inviting all area residents to attend a ceremony on Saturday, September 11, commemorating the 20th anniversary of the September 11th attacks on the United States.
The ceremony, which will begin at 7 p.m., will be held at downtown Beaufort’s Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park. It will pay tribute to those who lost their lives in the attacks, and to the heroes who saved the lives of so many people. 
The ceremony will include music from the Parris Island Marine Corps Band and the Beaufort Mass Choir.
USMC Col. Timothy R. Dremann, chief of staff at Parris Island Recruit Depot, will speak.
Luminaries will be lit in the park as part of the ceremony.
Please bring your own chairs and blankets to the ceremony.
