Beaufort did it again and this time it was MSN who named Beaufort the Most Adorable Small Town in South Carolina, in an article just published this week.

We couldn’t agree more.

“Behind dreamy Charleston, Beaufort is the second-oldest city in South Carolina,” MSN said.

“The area is renowned for its stunning Victorian and pre-Civil War era architecture and moss-covered oak trees. Walking tours or horse-drawn carriages typically run throughout the town, and the excellent Beaufort History Museum is worth a stop too.”

Nicely said.

Over the years, Beaufort has been called beautiful, the prettiest, charming and the best, among other things, but this is the first time we can recall being called “adorable.”

Also, MSN ranked the towns too. They picked the most adorable town in each state and then pitted them against each other. Beaufort came in at #14 behind others including Gatlinburg, TN, Hood River, OR, Tombstone, AZ, Sitka, AK and Helen, GA.

Oddly enough, a town named St, Helena in California came in at #1.

The accolades have been pouring in for Beaufort recently.

A few weeks ago, USA Today named Beaufort to the list of the Ten Best Coastal Small Towns in America. We’ve also recently been named one of the 25 Best Small Towns in America by Architectural Digest; the Most Charming Small Town in South Carolina; one of the Cutest Towns in the U.S. and the Most Quaint Town in South Carolina.

In addition to those, Southern Living magazine named the Old Sheldon Church ruins one of the South’s Most Beautiful Chapels; named Hunting Island State Park one of the Best State Parks in the South; and named downtown Beaufort’s Craven Street one of the South’s Most Beautiful Streets. Also, we’re both the Healthiest County in South Carolina and the Most Patriotic, too.
