More accolades have arrived in Beaufort, as our lovely little town by the sea was named on the list of 27 Most Beautiful Towns in America, for the second year in a row, by popular luxury and lifestyle travel magazine, Conde Nast Traveler.
Impressive. But not surprising.
Conde Nast had lots of good things to say about Beaufort.
“Located on Port Royal Island, Beaufort is famed for its Antebellum mansions and architecture, some of which date to the early 18th century.”
“The town is the second oldest in the state and combines a rich history with beautiful coastal backdrops,” Conde Nast added.
In a shout out to our beautiful homes, CN said, “Check out the Beaufort Historic District, which was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1969, to snap a photo of those gorgeous mansions framed by drooping oaks.”
Beaufort is becoming known for its food scene these days, too. “And because this is Lowcountry territory, you should come ready to eat,” CN added before touting a few of our downtown restaurants.
Our lovely town was in some good company, too.

Being a gorgeous, natural setting where everyone wants to live, Beaufort SC keeps getting high marks and accolades from publications who know what they’re talking about.
As of late, Beaufort has been named the Best Small Town in the South by Southern Living.
Earlier in the summer, CNN named Beaufort one of the Best Small Towns in America.
