The City of Beaufort is not hosting its traditional downtown trick or treating events this year due to the pandemic and, instead, has switched things up with some COVID-19 Halloween activities that include a virtual pumpkin decorating contest, a virtual costume contest and some drive-thru candy pick up opportunities.

“This year, Halloween will be re-imagined in a new way to celebrate with the community,” the City’s Facebook event says.

Sponsored by Lowe’s Home Improvement Center and local organization Born To Read, the events start on October 16th with the two virtual contests. Beaufort to host COVID-19 Halloween activities

The city plans to announce the winners in all categories in both contests via Facebook Live on Halloween Day, Saturday, October 31st.

Also, on Halloween day from 2 to 4pm, you can bring your little ghost, princess or ghoul to the drive-thru candy pick up that will be set up in a few of the City of Beaufort parks where there will be a “goodie bag tent” stocked with to-go bags filled with sweet treats, fun trinkets and more.
