The Community Bowling Center on Ribaut Road has permanently closed for business.
According to its owner, Pastor Randy Roberts of Love House Ministries who made the announcement on Thursday, the loss of business revenue due to the COVID-19 pandemic was too big a burden for the business to sustain.
Purchased and opened in 2013 by Roberts, when the facility closed as the long running Ribaut Lanes, it was converted into the Community Bowling Center, and then later Roberts added a Laser Tag Arena to the facility in 2017.
A frequent spot for bowling leagues, birthday parties and some good old fashioned fun, the building has also been used for Food Distribution Drives, and as an outdoor Sunday worship location for Pastor Roberts and Love House Ministries during the COVID-19 lockdown in both 2020 and 2021.
“Thank you Beaufort for your support,” Roberts added.
Sadly, our town has now lost one of the few indoor things for our children to enjoy. There isn’t much for local children to do here in Beaufort as it is and the loss of the bowling alley and laser tag arena is a hard pill to swallow.
We wish Pastor Roberts and his family all the best of luck in their future endeavors.
