The family of Chief Matthew Clancy has established the Chief Matthew Clancy Criminal Justice Leadership Scholarship at the Technical College of the Lowcountry to honor and perpetuate Chief Clancy’s legacy of service to country and community.

The Chief Clancy Leadership Scholarship will provide financial support for educational expenses for a student with a demonstrated commitment to community policing who is enrolled in the Criminal Justice Program at the Technical College of the Lowcountry.

Known for his love of family and community, Chief Clancy passed away on July 29th after complications with his fight with neuroendocrine cancer. At 56, Chief Clancy was a Citadel graduate, Parris Island Marine, former Beaufort County deputy and a true public servant.
