What makes this opportunity especially meaningful is that I not only work here, but I call this city home. I care deeply about this community and look forward to continuing to build strong relationships by listening with an open ear and an open mind.”

Mayor Phil Cromer expressed his pleasure at Cobb joining the staff.Β  β€œDanielle brings a deep understanding of our region and a proven ability to communicate effectively in both routine and high-profile situations,” said Cromer. β€œWe are excited to welcome her to the City team and look forward to the positive impact she will have on how we connect with our residents.”

Marshall added, β€œClear, consistent communication is essential to good government. Danielle’s experience in delivering information with accuracy and professionalism will be a tremendous asset to our organization. We are confident she will help us continue to build strong relationships with our community.”

As Public Information Officer, Cobb will oversee media relations, public messaging, digital communications, and community outreach efforts. She will also play a key role in communicating major City initiatives, emergency information, and day-to-day operations to Beaufort residents and stakeholders.

Cobb continued, β€œmy mission coming into this position is simple: to prioritize the people, businesses and journalists that make up this community through transparency and honest communication. I hope the community will continue to see those values reflected in my work, just as they have throughout my time as a journalist.”
