Beaufort is finally getting its Cook Out restaurant location. After a few years since announcing one was going to be opened in town, the new fast food spot is now finally starting to take shape.
The Burger King location at 2434 Boundary Street, that has recently closed its doors, will be reopening as a Cook Out location soon after the first of the year, according to the general contractor at the work site.
Cook Out is a fast-food chain known for its drive-thru BBQ, burgers, and other fare, along with nearly 40 milkshake flavors to choose from.
Originally founded back in 1989 in Greensboro, North Carolina, by 2012 it had opened its 100th restaurant, and it now boasts over 330 of them across ten states in the Southeastern U.S. as of November 2023. This will be their first Cook Out in Beaufort.
The restaurant also offers quesadillas, hot dogs, chicken sandwiches, wraps, shakes, floats, and more.
The Burger King restaurant on Beaufort’s Boundary Street has been there for several decades.
Operated by Lawrence Laxton, Inc. since around 1980, it’s been there for a very long time. But, according to the general contractor, it seems a quicker retrofit to the existing building will have the location open for business sometime in January 2024.
In October, 2021, the Cook Out was originally said to have been going into the old Golden Corral Restaurant location along Robert Smalls Parkway.
