The Beaufort Water Festival has announced on Monday that, in keeping with a traditional country music theme, country music act Parmalee will take the stage as the headline performer at the Concert in the Park on Saturday July 13th starting at 7pm.

Opening guests for the popular Concert in the Park will be HunterGirl and local singer, Katie Lynn.

Parmalee has become one of country music’s most constant and consistent hitmakers. The group has released three studio albums: Feels Like Carolina, 27861, and For You. The band has made eight entries on the Billboard Hot Country Songs and Country Airplay charts, with three number one singles on the latter: “Carolina” in 2013, “Just the Way”, a collaboration with Blanco Brown, in 2021, and “Take My Name” in 2022.

Two more singles have reached the Top 10: “Close Your Eyes” in 2014 and “Already Callin’ You Mine” in 2015.

Their song, “Day Drinkin'” was featured second in Twisted Tea’s two-part commercial series, “Unwind With a Twist”. The commercial aired in 2019.

Parmalee was also the opening act for country music’s Chris Janson at the 3rd annual Concert for the Heroes fundraiser in Ridgeland, SC on Saturday, April 13th.

The group – comprised of brothers Matt Thomas (guitar/lead vocals) and Scott Thomas (drums), along with their cousin Barry Knox (bass) and life-long friend Josh McSwain (guitar) has accumulated more than 1 billion on-demand streams.

Hunter Wolkonowski, known professionally as HunterGirl, will be the opening act. Hunter is a country music singer-songwriter from Winchester, Tennessee and was the runner-up on the twentieth season of American Idol in 2022. She has only one single out; released in 2023, called, “Ain’t About You.”
