As Easter nears, everybody in Beaufort, SC is looking forward to finding the Easter Bunny for photos and to enjoying some springtime fun at old fashioned community Easter egg hunts. We rounded up a few local hunts, festivals and Easter events that are happening across the Beaufort area.
Easter is coming a little earlier than usual this year, with Easter Sunday hitting us all on March 31st.
The fun is coming this Easter season with 3 straight weekends of Egg Hunts and Easter bunny fun in the area.
On March 16th, the Lowcountry Community Church in Bluffton is hosting a big Easter Egg Hunt and also offers free photos with Peter Rabbit in Mr. McGregor’s garden.
The weekend of March 23rd & 24th is a biggie all over the area with tons of Easter fun.
The Easter Bunny will be making an appearance in downtown Beaufort for free photos on Saturday, March 23rd from Noon until 2pm at Freedom Park on Bay Street. Get the details here.
Also on Saturday the 23rd, you can enjoy the Great Helicopter Easter Egg Drop on Lady’s Island where 17,500 plastic eggs will be dropped from a helicopter onto the Beaufort Academy Football Field. The event also offers bounce houses, balloon artists, vendors, face painters, a petting zoo, music, a parking lot full of ten local food trucks and even free photos with the Easter Bunny. Advanced tickets are required.
Over in Hardeeville, the town’s free annual Community Easter Egg Hunt kicks off at 11am at the Recreation Complex. The Easter Bunny will be there for photos, along with bounce houses, face painting, food, live music and lots more.
On Sunday, March 24th be sure not to miss the huge free Easter Festival from 12:30-4pm at Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park in downtown Beaufort. Hosted by the folks at Tidal Creek Fellowship, the free event offers fun for the whole family with inflatables, face painting, arts and crafts, snow cones, games, popcorn, giveaways, prizes, and more.
Also, on Sunday, March 24th, get out to the Highway 21 Drive In for their massive Easter Egg Hunt from 3 to 6pm. The drive-in will have 10,000 Eggs scattered by the Easter Bunny and many will be filled with all kinds of fun things. They’re also having face painting, bounce houses and photos with Peter Cottontail. Tickets are required.
On Saturday, March 30th, Community Bible Church at 638 Parris Island Gateway is hosting its free annual Easter Eggstravaganza from 10am to 1pm with free egg hunts for children, contests, puppet shows, face painting, bounce houses, a petting zoo, candy and more.
Also, every year, the Easter Bunny makes a visit to The Chocolate Tree in downtown Beaufort to meet area kids and take photos. This year, the Easter Bunny will be there, but hasn’t told them when he’s coming. Keep your eye out for the announcement on the Chocolate Tree’s Facebook page.
