Folks in Beaufort, SC are in for another treat this Christmas season. While it’s highly unlikely that anybody will be “dashing through the snow in a one horse open sleigh,” Sea Island Carriage Company will be hosting Christmas Carriage rides through the beautiful Habersham neighborhood during the month of December.
Experience the magic of the holiday season on a horse & carriage ride through the Southern Living inspired community of Habersham.
While Sea Island Carriage Company typically gives narrated historic tours of the downtown
Beaufort area, this won’t be an historic tour. Habersham is always decked out for the Christmas season with the sights and sounds of the holiday including lights, luminaries, and more; and the carriage rides will take you through all of that seasonal beauty each weekend from December 5th through December 22nd.
Sea Island Carriage Company owner, Nichole Bradley, is excited about the event. “We’re over the top excited to do this,” Bradley said. “Last year was the first year and it sold out, so we’re very excited to do this again.”
Carriage rides are open to the public, and private carriage bookings are also available.
“We have room for everybody,” Bradley said.
According to Bradley, the rides will start every 15-20 minutes, and will leave from 22 Market, along the main street in the neighborhood.
“Our Christmas carriages will hold up to 12 people at a time, so everyone who wants to enjoy the magic of the season will have a seat.”
A dual event between Sea Island Carriage Company and Habersham Marketplace as part of its Habersham for the Holidays events, visitors are encouraged to stick around for awhile after their ride and enjoy the dining and shopping options that Habersham houses in its quaint Marketplace near the front entrance to the community.
