The Town of Bluffton will host its 10th Annual Historic Preservation Symposium on Thursday, May 15, at 5:30 p.m. in the Henry “Emmett” McCracken Jr. Council Chambers at Town Hall, located at 20 Bridge St.
This year’s theme is “Protecting Bluffton Through Historic Preservation Grants.”
Glen Umberger, the town’s historic preservationist, will present an illustrated talk on the Historic Preservation Grant Program, which began Jan. 1, 2022. The program has awarded more than $250,000 in grants to help preserve, protect, and rehabilitate Bluffton’s historic resources.
The event begins with a Meet-and-Greet reception at 5:30 p.m. with representatives from the Heyward House Museum and Campbell Chapel A.M.E. Church, two past grant recipients. The featured presentation will take place from 6 to 7 p.m.
A reception will follow at The Heyward House, 70 Boundary St.
