Join historic Penn Center and celebrate Lowcountry Cuisine with Sunday Brunch on August 28th from 11am until 2pm.
The event features a keynote speaker, Mrs. Velma Maia Thomas, who has completed stunning research on the accounts of formerly enslaved and free black women who demanded reimbursement from the Federal Government for the property, goods and food taken by the Union Army during Sherman’s March to the Sea.
Her talk, titled, “Give Me Back What’s Mine,” will begin at 1230pm.
The Brunch is free and open to the public.
