🧺 Do you love sweetgrass baskets?! Have you always wanted to learn how to create them?
🧺 You’re in luck! We are hosting 2 different classes with the one and only Charleston-based Andrea Cayetano-Jefferson, Gullah Sweetgrass Baskets.
🧺 Sweetgrass baskets are traditionally comprised of Lowcountry sweetgrass, bulrush, pine needles, and palmetto fronds. The tradition of basket sewing originated in West Africa and has been handed down through generations of Gullah ancestors throughout the Lowcountry of the southern United States.
🧺 We have two dates available! During the class, you will learn how to make your very own sweetgrass basket to take home!
– August 16 from 6-8pm.
– August 23 from 6-8pm.
$100 covers the class and materials. $10 is due to reserve your spot, and $90 is due at class. Cancellations may reschedule with $100 due to reserve your spot at the next class.
* You only need to attend one class to complete your basket.
