Lafayette Bicentennial Celebration

A celebration of the bicentennial of the Marquis de Lafayette’s visit to Beaufort during his farewell tour of the nation in 1825. The event will include lectures, exhibits, children’s costume parade, poster and essay contests, traveling history displays, hands-on history programs, and more, culminating on March 18 with the arrival of Lafayette, a 13-gun salute, a parade procession, triumphal arch, historic marker, 18th century dance demonstrations and more.
