The Original Gullah Festival of Beaufort (May 22-24, 2026): Held over Memorial Day weekend, this event has celebrated Gullah culture for over 30 years with dancing, jazz, blues, reggae, African drumming, and traditional cuisine.
Gullah Festivals in South Carolina, particularly the Original Gullah Festival in Beaufort (May 22–24, 2026 at Henry Chambers Waterfront Park, celebrate the rich West African-rooted heritage of the Gullah Geechee people through music, food, and crafts. These annual, family-friendly, multi-day events feature storytelling, spirituals, and workshops aimed at preserving this unique culture.
