Coastal Discovery Museum
Docent Training – Reptiles of the Lowcountry
March 1st, 2023 – 2:45-4:30pm
The Coastal Discovery Museum offers a wide variety of educational experiences for people of all ages. During the Museum’s Reptiles of the Lowcountry experiences participants learn about the characteristics, habits, contributions, and reputation of regional reptiles as well as how to protect these amazing creatures and safely enjoy sharing the Lowcountry with them. This experience includes interacting with a few live reptiles too!
The Coastal Discovery Museum is looking for some enthusiastic volunteers that are interested in presenting and/or handling animals for our public Reptiles of the Lowcountry program. Being a presenter for this program requires having good public speaking and people skills, an interest in learning and teaching about reptiles and their importance, and interacting with a few reptiles. Being and animal handler for this program requires good people skills and the ability to handle snakes, lizards, turtles, and alligators with care (additional training provided).
The Museum is having a training/information session on Wednesday March 1st, from 2:45-4:30pm at the Coastal Discovery Museum. Please contact Dawn Brut at 843 689 6767 x228 or email dbrut@coastaldiscovery.org to reserve a seat at this CDM docent training session.
