Sweetgrass Basket Class!

Join us for instruction on sewing your own sweetgrass basket with Andrea Cayetano-Jefferson. Andrea represents the intricate artwork of Gullah culture as a sixth generation sweetgrass artist. She has recently been featured in Southern Living Magazine and has proudly added her work to the Smithsonian Museum and the Charleston 2024 Idea House.

Andrea will get you started by providing a 5 inch wide base and a 1 inch depth for your basket. She will instruct you in the art of sewing and help you complete your project. The size (depth) of your basket will depend on how much sewing you complete during this two hour class.
