Fripp Island Security is asking the community for assistance in identifying the individuals seen on video harassing, taunting and then swinging around a small gator on the night of July 5th.

It reportedly happened around midnight on Bonito Road near Ocean Creek Drive.

In the video below shared by WJCL TV in Savannah, the men are seen surrounding the small alligator, and, at one point, one of the men picks up the alligator by its tail. Then, another man does the same thing before flinging the small gator into the air.

Throughout the video, the small alligator is seen trying to get away several different times.

It is illegal in the state of South Carolina to harass or entice an alligator.

The Fripp Island Resort would like to remind all of their visitors that in South Carolina it is illegal to feed, harass, or approach a gator. They are a protected part of our habitat and not only is interacting with them illegal, it is DANGEROUS.

We would like to remind you that this is just stupid, and you should never ever do something like this.

If you have any information regarding the identity of these men in the video, contact Fripp Island Security at 843-838-2334 or email security@frippislandliving.com.
