Extras are needed for the HBO series “The Righteous Gemstones” scheduled to have a week of filming in Beaufort in August.
The Righteous Gemstones is a comedy series that tells the story of a world-famous televangelist family with a long tradition of deviance, greed, and charitable work, and it stars John Goodman, Danny McBride, Gavin Munn, Edi Patterson and Adam Devine.
The show is filming its 2nd season and is usually filmed in the Charleston, SC area, but production is coming to Beaufort from August 9th through the 13th. To our knowledge, this is the first time an HBO series has filmed in Beaufort.
The local casting company, Tona B. Dahlquist is looking for a whole host of extras, including:
- 2 fire breathers
- A set of identical newborn twins, ages 4 weeks to 3 months
- 5 island dancers
- 10 to 15 landing staff: servers and chefs
- 20 hip young investors, Los Angeles chic types in 20s to 30s
- 40 to 50 landing guests, including a few kids
- 10 construction workers
- 5 security types
- 3 to portray camera ops
- 14 cast photo doubles
Extras are required to have two pre-production COVID-19 tests and will receive an additional $100 on their filming day voucher for having been tested.
Also, extras may be required to attend a wardrobe fitting prior to filming.
To submit your interest in being in the production, the casting company asks that you please send an email to TRG2background@gmail.com with the heading “BEAUFORT AVAIL” and the following information: two current cellphone photos, one close up and one full length; your name; phone number; age; city and state; height and weight; clothing size; description of visible tattoos and piercings; and color, make, model and year of the vehicle you drive.
The casting company, Tona B. Dahlquist Casting, has handled previous projects in the area, including Forrest Gump, Hunger Games, and Iron Man 3.
