Local Beaufort businesses make adjustments in national emergency

Beaufort is a small town with a wealth of small, independently owned businesses at its core. During the national COVID-19 emergency, those small businesses can take a huge hit with folks staying at home.

In times of emergency, like now, folks need to know what’s going on. We’re happy to publish this article letting you know what is going on with many of Beaufort’s local business during this time.

Many of our local businesses are making changes and adjustments in their operations to be in a better position to keep our community safe, to keep their employees safe, and to be able to continue being able to operate their business during this time of uncertainty. Some restaurants are closing their dining rooms, some are adding delivery or curbside services. Some retail shops are also offering delivery, or can ship if you shop with them online.

Here is a list of what is going on with some of our local businesses in the Beaufort area that you already love to support.

Please remember that all of our amazing local restaurants offer take out and you’re encouraged to utilize that option.

And also remember to do what you can for all of Beaufort’s local business in this time of uncertainty. Buying a gift card for future use is also a fantastic idea, and a great way to help.

This list will be updated as more local businesses make adjustments, so feel free to bookmark it and come back as often as you need to so you stay in-the-know.

Ryan’s Pizza & Subs has closed its dining room and bar, and is offering delivery or take out only with normal business hours.

Panini’s on the Waterfront is offering a curbside pickup.

Fat Patties is now offering a curbside pickup and will be implementing a delivery service in the coming days.

Q on Bay is open for normal business and is “ready to meet you on Bay Street to deliver your orders to your car,” for those that want to take advantage of the service.

Boondocks Restaurant on St. Helena Island is opening up its drive through window for lunch and dinner service. Look for it to be operational by Wednesday.

Herban Market is now offering a curbside pickup service.

O-Cha Noodle Cafe is offering delivery service with orders of $10 or more.

Rain N Bagels is offering delivery in the downtown area for breakfast and lunch.

Wayback Burgers in Beaufort Town Center is offering curbside pickup on orders placed through their App.

Beaufort Bread Company on Lady’s Island is offering curbside service for pick up, along with deliveries within a 2 mile radius.

The Kitchen is now offering curbside service at their new location near Grayco on Lady’s Island and also delivery to a limited area.

Moe’s Southwest Grill is offering delivery on orders over $10 through its App.

Good Aura ladies clothing store in downtown is offering a free delivery service within 15 miles of the store. Orders must be placed online.

Monkey’s Uncle children’s toy store in downtown is offering local delivery or curbside pick up.

The Highway 21 Drive In will remain open. As it is, you get to enjoy the movies from the safety of your own vehicle, but now they have a printable order form on their website that you can give to the cashier at the ticket window. They will call you when the order is ready so you can pick it up at the cash register. No waiting in the line at the concession stand. Owner Joe Barth also says, “we’re constantly looking for ways to make it even better for our customers. We may end up meeting you outside with your food or delivering it to your car.”

If you want to get out for a little while without feeling much risk, downtown Beaufort’s carriage tour companies are still running. Take a historic tour of your hometown with either Sea Island Carriage Company or Southurn Rose in an open air carriage ride.

Please remember that all local pizza spots that offer delivery service can deliver to your home and most of them sell much more than just pizza, and don’t forget about DoorDash.
