A new Hallmark Channel Christmas movie is filming in the Charleston area and the local casting company is currently looking for paid extras.

Filming of the new movie, USS Christmas, will start the last week of September.

In an email, TW Cast & Recruit said they are looking for men and women ages 20+, who are current or former Naval Personnel to be paid extras for multiple days of filming starting on Monday 9/28 and ending on Thursday 10/1.

Created and written by Dateline NBC correspondent Andrea Canning, “USS Christmas” is a Christmas love story following the lives of a Navy fighter pilot and a news reporter who have both put their careers before their lackluster love lives. Will the two lead characters be able to put their careers on hold to find a special bond of love and happiness that can only be found during the hustle and bustle of the holiday season?

Everyone loves a Hallmark Christmas movie.

According to the casting agent, anyone applying for the role must have past or present Navy experience and should be able to provide their own formal Navy Blues uniform and an everyday uniform, and those supplying their own will receive an extra $50.

In addition, those submitting should have regulation hair. If hired, any tattoos that
cannot be covered by clothing must be covered by makeup prior to arriving to set.

According to the agent, extras will be paid an hourly rate with time and a half guaranteed for every hour afterwards.

Also noted is those applying for a role in the movie must be willing to get tested for
Covid prior to filming on Thursday, September 24th. More information on when and where you should go will be made available to you once you are booked for a role.
