A new restaurant offering Caribbean and Hawaiian fare is opening on Monday in Port Royal at the Port Royal Landing Marina taking over the spot formerly home to the Back Porch Grill.

Marker 244 is named for the Intra-coastal Waterway marker near the marina that most boaters know is adjacent to the docks, and the restaurant offers amazing views of the marsh and the water, and they even have a cool tiki guy as their logo.

Local chef Penn Ten Eyck, former owner of Sweetgrass Restaurant on Dataw Island will be the chef at the new restaurant, bringing years of experience with local Lowcountry cuisine to your table.

The menu at Marker 244 will include fresh local caught seafood, a variety of burgers and sandwiches, fried and jerked chicken, jerked shrimp, kabobs and lots more.

We can’t wait to try this place.
