Some familiar faces are behind a new local restaurant coming to Lady’s Island next month. The owners of downtown Beaufort’s Q on Bay, Chris Johnson and Jason Bailey, are taking some of their recipes across the bridge and offering a brand new menu full of goodies.

The ChiQen Shack will be opening up in September along Sea Island Parkway on Lady’s Island, across from the Factory Creek (Whitehall) Landing.

The new restaurant will offer fried, BBQ and pulled chicken along with pulled pork and all the fixins’, with an emphasis on carry out for boaters launching across the street.

“We’ll be offering buckets of chicken and buckets of pulled pork and all the fixins’ as take out for boaters,” said Chris.

“All of our meats will be smoked on-site and the menu will also offer pork and chicken sliders, pork chop sandwiches, shrimp tacos, hand cut fries, potato salad, red slaw and other salads,” Jason said.

“We’ve created some new things to keep it separated from Q on Bay and we’ll continue to use local ingredients,” he added.
