New tour company with familiar face sets up shop in Beaufort
Beyond Beaufort Excursions offers 5 to 6 hour, small-group adventures through northern Beaufort County in a comfortable 15-passenger van.

After nearly two decades in the tourism industry, one local is embarking on an exciting new journey, bringing visitors and locals alike a fresh, immersive way to experience the beauty and history of the Lowcountry.

Nichole Bradley, a Beaufort native and former owner of Sea Island Carriage Company, had wanted to build something new for the past ten years. Now she finally has the chance after having officially passed the reins of the carriage business in February 2026.

This local lady, she just can’t stop.

“Today, Iโ€™m thrilled to welcome you to Beyond Beaufort Excursions,” Nichole said.

“This isnโ€™t just another tour, itโ€™s something Beaufort has never seen before. It’s actually more than a tour, itโ€™s a true Lowcountry experience.โ€

With storytelling and a love of Beaufort’s history, beauty, visitors, and lifestyle, Bradley has opened her newest business, Beyond Beaufort Excursions.

Beyond Beaufort Excursions offers 5 to 6 hour, small-group adventures through northern Beaufort County in a comfortable 15-passenger van.

“Designed to go beyond the typical sightseeing experience, these excursions invite guests to step out, explore, and truly connect with the places we visit,” she said.

The journey begins in downtown Beaufort, where guests are introduced to over 500 years of rich history that shaped our coastal town. From there, we travel through the serene grounds of Beaufort National Cemetery, followed by a stop in Port Royal to explore the breathtaking Cypress Wetlands and relax along the Sands Beach and look for some shark teeth.

One of the stops on the new excursion is the Old Sheldon Church ruins in Yemassee.

But the adventure doesnโ€™t stop there.

“Guests will experience the true beauty of the Old Sheldon Church ruins and enjoy a charming visit to the Frampton Plantation House, where theyโ€™ll pause for a refreshing break with lemonade and cookies,” Nichole said, adding a perfect Lowcountry touch.

Throughout the excursion, guests wonโ€™t just see these locationsโ€”theyโ€™ll learn about them, walk through them, and experience them firsthand. From local stories and history to hands-on moments like searching for shark teeth, every trip is designed to be engaging, educational, and unforgettable.

To ensure comfort along the way, Nichole plans to provide each guest with water, sunscreen, bug spray, and umbrellas, and to have optional snacks are available. Also, guests are welcome to bring a small cooler for personal items.

“This is not your typical tour bus experience. This is Beaufortโ€ฆ beyond the surface, and I am very excited about it.”

Whether youโ€™re visiting for the first time or have called the Lowcountry home for years, Beyond Beaufort Excursions offers a deeper look at the places, stories, and landscapes that make this area so special.
