One of the most popular boat landings in the area will reopen this week with lots of upgrades.
The new Whitehall Boat Landing on Sea Island Parkway on Lady’s Island will open early this week after being closed for improvements since October 2018, according to O’Quinn Marine Construction, the contractor on the project.
Also known as the Factory Creek Boat Ramp, Whitehall is one of the most utilized water access points in all of Beaufort County. This project has made many improvements to the boat ramp and parking areas and will allow the general public better and safer access to Factory Creek and the Beaufort River.
The new landing has over 24 parking spaces as opposed to the 16 spaces the previous landing held. There’s a railing the whole way around the landing, and even a new ground-out dock and a new floating dock.
The new boat ramp is an impressive 45ft x 135ft in size.
Being more people-friendly, there’s even a set of steps leading to the landing from the small park and parking area adjacent to it.
The landing will be a fabulous new addition and will enable more boaters to enjoy launching at Factory Creek.
