After pouring over thousands of entries, we’re thrilled to announce that the winners of our weekend Winter Getaway to Beaufort contest are Kathy & John Fischer from Hampton, Georgia
In our contest registration, we asked contestants why they want to take a fall visit to Beaufort SC, and we read lots of stories in response.
“Beaufort is my husband’s hometown,” Kathy said in her entry.
“He grew up on Bay Street. His family home was sold and now the land belongs to the City of Beaufort,” she said.
“It is the last property on Bay Street before you get into town. The city purchased it long ago to clear the land and create the green space that you see on the bluff today.”
“We love Beaufort. I first visited in 1980 and though Beaufort is the most beautiful place, and we would love to come there again.”
Beaufort is happy to welcome you and John back, in style.
The Fischers win a free weekend stay at the beautiful Mermaid Cottage, along with a free dinner at Panini’s on the Waterfront and breakfast at Blackstone’s Cafe, along with a free carriage tour through historic downtown with the fine folks at Southurn Rose Buggy Tours.
